Abstract

The article analyzes the challenges faced by Gustavo Petro's government after his election as president of Colombia. It highlights social polarization, economic uncertainty with problems such as the devaluation of the peso and unemployment, and growing urban insecurity. Petro must also deal with the incomplete implementation of the peace process and the reconfiguration of criminal groups. Additionally, his administration will need to address climate change and foreign relations in a politically unstable region. Governance will depend on party coordination and citizen support.
