The article briefly presents the importance of the Holy Spirit in the life of the Church and how he himself has been the the undisputed protagonist of salvation history. The sections explore some preliminary elements on the theology of charisms, the role of charisms in the early Church, the Second Vatican Council and its mission to deepen the action of the Holy Spirit and the charisms in the Church as a gift and necessity which are intended to guarantee communion and mission in the Church.
